MfsStream Web Module v.98!
- Now works with both 2.x and 3.x tivos (Directivo and SA)! - Fixed a timezone bug when dealing with GMT 0 - Added error checking when opening .cfg file - Changed file read routine so it should work on all tivos.. Thanks to whoever fixed it for 3.0 tivos (please PM me so i can give you proper credit for the initial hack) and also to jdiner for his version detection algorithm that i ripped out so blatantly.. ![]() To upgrade, you only need to replace the mfsstream.itcl and mfsstream.cfg in your modules directory.. Lemme know if it doesn't work for you! I got v.98 to work on my SA Phillips. Video extraction was the last mod I was hopig to get working on my unit. After several attempts at other methods none of which I was able to get working, I was able to get this one going in no time.

Error Message when using Edit
I cannot edit the show title when using MFSSTREAMS. I get the folowing error:

Am I doing something wrong?
Maybe I am missing something but I have installed mfsStream and it seems to work fine. I can download the ty files to my PC. From there nothing seems to work. I've tried tydemux and I get divide by zero errors, I tried vsplit and I get empty output files. Tried TyTools in process mode and got the same thing. I have a D-tivo ver 3.1.0-01-1-011 ... Am I missing something??

When I click on a file it saves it as 0 bytes.... mfsstream stops at 3.99GB
I loaded mfstream V.98 and for me it works much better than previous versions with one major exception: It stops downloading at 3.99GB.
The download begins normally but once the download reaches 3.99 GB it just stops. The download window stays open but there is no network activity. If I stop the download the partial .ty file is deleted because the download was not completed. I have tried to download several streams and get the same results. Any ideas? Thanks, |

hmm, now this is weird. I haven't touched tyhttpd since the first couple versions.. has anyone else tried getting a >4gb .ty?

gosquad: Not sure whether or not you have noticed this yet but:

same os on the tivo as me
and im using xp with sp1 here is whats happening - i start it up, it being tytool5, then i hit refresh it connnects then the program exits on its own and disappears is that a trip or what? any ideas, any special settings i should try i get errors from the nowshowing.tcl for certain lines in the code let me run it in a sec and post them for u gimme about 10 mins |

Zero byte error...
I just installed tivoweb 194, mfsstream .98b and tyhttpd (from this thread) on a DSR6000 DTiVo.
On mfsstream module, I see my now playing list, but when I click on a movie title to download, I get a 0 byte ty file. little help, please

Most likely the problem is this:
From the readme istallation instructions: 4) edit modules/mfsstream.cfg and change 'path' to the path that contains mfs_stream. So, for example, if you installed the mfs_stream file in /tivoweb-tcl, edit mfsstream.cfg and change path::/var/hack/tivoweb-tcl to path::/tivoweb-tcl Also make sure you started the httpd server. To verify, do a ps x command and you should see something like this in the list: 115 ? S 0:00 /tivo-bin/tyhttpd 2000 4 119 ? SW 0:00 /tivo-bin/tyhttpd 2000 4 120 ? SW 0:00 /tivo-bin/tyhttpd 2000 4 121 ? SW 0:00 /tivo-bin/tyhttpd 2000 4 122 ? SW 0:00 /tivo-bin/tyhttpd 2000 4 |

thanks sz, for the really fast reply... I had just figured this out and changed the cfg file to point to devbin... everythings seems to be working fine now so the tyhttpd server must be running as well.
Couldn't check if it was, don't have ps installed. Where can I find that? It's annoying not being able to check running processes... |

Finally catching up after cleaning down the Tivo... My Tivo /var/hack was killed at some point, so I did a complete Delete all and went back thru guided setup.. I have installed so far.... joe to /var/hack tivo-bin to /var/hack/bin tivoweb-tcl 1.9.4 to var/hack/tivo-web Just installed mfs_stream98b put the mfs_stream and tyhttpd files in /var/hack chmod 755 on both copied the modules into /var/hack/tivoweb-tcl/modules edited .cfg file to point at /var/hack for path added line to rc.sysinit as in instructions.. /var/hack as path Restarted. Best as I could figure the tz value wasn't set or was null or something, which caused tz*60*60 to be invalid in some way. I think Jdiner said he was gonna take a look, or had actually fixed it for a tytool that was to come (Its a long time since I've played with the tivo, so this may already have happened) I posted a fix there, but I don't want to fish around if its just a fix someones already made that has missed being rolled in or something... If it is still outstanding, and needs any testing, I'm all over the Tivo for the next few days. My Tivo is a UK Thompson 2.5.5. J |

OK two further things on from my last post...
a code snippet.. proc get_tzoffset {mfstz dst} { if { $mfstz < 0 } { set tz $mfstz } else { set tzlist "-5 -6 -7 -8 -9 -10 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 -1 -2 -3 -4 -12" set tz [lindex $tzlist [expr $mfstz - 1]] if { $tz == "" } { set tz 0 } } As I've said before, I don't know tcl, but from when I looked at this before, this code is slightly different I believe.. the if { $tz == "" } { set tz 0} line is new... I think it might be in the wrong place though? If its to pickup the failure of the first part of the if clause to set correctly, its not actually getting executed, as its sitting under the else clause.. IF thats what its there for.. so taking that guess.. moving down so its outside of the if clause.... set tz [lindex $tzlist [expr $mfstz - 1]] } if { $tz == "" } { set tz 0 } mfs stream is now working... is there anything I can add in the code to give people who understand tcl a hand in fixing this? dumping values to screen? when I tested Jdiner's nowshowing.tcl before, I played around with put to show the tz value. It came up 'blank'. does that not mean that msftz is 'blank'? Should that be possible? Anyway, thanks Gosquad for a great add-in, and all the effort you've put in. 2GB limit ?
I haven't been able to download >2Gb files at all - any clues to why ?
In windows the files xfer, but then IE fails when its trying to rename the file (and deletes it). In linux mozilla, netscape, opera all have trouble - opera downloads but crashes when download is complete. Mozilla/netscape refuse to download since size is 0 - if I change the reported size to -1 it downloads but then mozilla never finishes the download (and file is smaller than the streamweb module reports it should be). What am I doing wrong ? |
